Government Encourages Tech Professionals to Use AI for Agricultural Development

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, has encouraged technology professionals to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to boost the country’s agricultural sector. Speaking at a tech gathering in Ogun State, he emphasized the potential of AI in modernizing farming practices and revitalizing Nigeria’s agriculture.

During a recent visit to Anglican High School Quarry in Abeokuta, the Minister also advised students to focus on their education and play an active role in national development. Reflecting on his own journey, Tijani credited his secondary school training and discipline for shaping his success, urging students not to let their circumstances hinder their ambitions.

As part of his commitment to education, the Minister announced a fellowship program for the top three students in each class, offering them ₦100,000 per academic session, a laptop, and new school uniforms. Additionally, he pledged to construct a new school building equipped with smart boards to enhance learning.

Tijani’s initiatives aim to empower young Nigerians and drive innovation in both education and agriculture through technology.
