TikTok star Peller has threatened to sue Pastor Kesiena Esiri after the cleric linked his content to poor JAMB results and labeled him a bad influence on Nigerian youth.

Peller fired back during a live session, accusing the pastor of chasing clout and using their names to boost church donations, sparking fierce debate online over content and responsibility.

Nigerian TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller has issued a warning to Pastor Kesiena Esiri, threatening legal action after the cleric labeled him a bad influence on youths during a church sermon.

According to a reports the drama began after Pastor Kesiena Esiri, the Lead Pastor of Remnant Christian Network, in a viral video circulating online, accused Peller and his girlfriend, Jarvis, of promoting immoral behavior negatively impacting Nigerian youths. He went as far as connecting their content to the recent wave of poor performances in the 2025 JAMB (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination).

In his sermon, Pastor Esiri questioned, “Do you know who is mentoring our teenagers now? A guy who calls himself Peller. Young people now sit on their phones from morning till night watching him. He’s moving around with a girl he’s not married to, doing all kinds of inappropriate things—and society treats it like normal behavior. Can they pass JAMB like that? They can’t.”

The remarks didn’t sit well with Peller, who responded In a TikTok live session with disbelief and anger.

“That pastor went to church and started preaching about Peller and Jarvis, saying we’re the reason his children failed JAMB,” he said. “Nobody is forced to watch our content. You see that pastor—we’re going to sue you. Mr. Prophet, we will sue you for using our names to collect offerings.”

Peller didn’t stop there. He accused the pastor of intentionally name-dropping them to gain clout and increase donations from young, impressionable members of the congregation. “He used our names because he knows all the Gen Zs will love it and bring more offerings. They’d be like, ‘Wow, Pastor is talking about Peller? He must be cool.’”

The situation has since sparked debate online, with some defending Peller’s right to creative expression while others echo the pastor’s concerns about the influence of social media personalities on today’s youth.
