Verydarkman Breaks Silence on Davido and Cubana Chief Priest’s Visit to President Tinubu

Activist Verydarkman has responded to the viral visit of Davido and Cubana Chief Priest to President Tinubu, stressing he has no issue with personal political choices.

However, he cautioned celebrities against using their influence to sway voters ahead of 2027, arguing that politicians, not entertainers, should speak directly to Nigerians.

Verydarkman Breaks Silence on Davido and Cubana Chief Priest’s Visit to President Tinubu Popular social media activist, Verydarkman, has finally reacted to the trending visit of Afrobeats superstar Davido and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House.

The meeting, which quickly went viral, sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms. While some Nigerians viewed the visit as a harmless courtesy, others criticized it, claiming that celebrities should maintain neutrality when engaging with political figures, especially in a country facing numerous socio-economic challenges.

In the midst of the heated public debate, Verydarkman took to his social media page to address the issue. He clarified that he had no personal problem with anyone, whether a celebrity or an ordinary citizen, choosing to support a particular political party or candidate. However, he drew a clear line when it comes to the use of celebrity influence in political campaigns. According to him, Davido, Cubana Chief Priest, and others are entitled to their political preferences, but he believes they should not use their massive platforms to campaign or sway public opinion, especially as the 2027 general elections approach.

In his words:

“If you want to support Tinubu in 2027, that’s your choice. If you want to support any political party, it’s your personal decision. But don’t expect me to start recording videos just because of what Chief Priest or Davido did. My issue will only start if they use their platforms to campaign during elections, they don’t have that right and that’s where I’ll draw the line.” He stated that any politician should campaign for themselves and talk to the people of Nigerians.

His comments have reignited discussions on the ethical responsibilities of influencers in political discourse, especially in a country where celebrity endorsements can significantly shape public sentiment.
