KWAM 1 Pays Tribute to Late Mother, Reveals She Was His First Music Mentor
Fuji icon K1 De Ultimate has paid an emotional tribute to his late mother, Princess Halima Anifowoshe, crediting her for inspiring and shaping his musical path.
Though denied a music career due to royal duties, she passed her passion to him, teaching, composing, and becoming the silent force behind many of his successes.
Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has shared touching details about the influential role his late mother, Princess Halima Anifowoshe, played in shaping his musical journey.

Speaking during a podcast session dedicated to his latest body of work, Ganusi: The Album Fuji Classical, the iconic singer opened up about how his mother, despite being unable to pursue her own dreams of becoming a musician, significantly contributed to his artistic development.
According to K1, his mother, Princess Halima Anifowoshe who passed away in January 2025, was passionate about music in her youth but was discouraged from pursuing it due to her royal heritage and societal expectations placed on women at the time. “My mother, as a young maiden, was a singer and a princess by birth. She was denied the opportunity to express her talent because she was the daughter of a reigning king and expected to settle down in marriage,” he said.
Despite being held back from the stage, Halima Anifowoshe passed on her musical knowledge to her son. K1 revealed that she not only taught him the basics of music but also served as his composer on numerous occasions. “The song ‘Mama’ is dedicated to her memory. She taught me about the rudiments of music and singing… Many times, she composed for me and played a key role in my musical growth,” he said.
He expressed deep gratitude for her influence and explained that honoring her through music was a way to keep her legacy alive. “She poured her passion into me, and God helped me carry it forward. She made her own contribution into my musical development. So, I think it’s honorable for me to remember her and have a blessed track for her” K1 added.
