Yinka TNT Criticises Mercy Aigbe Over ₦16M Outfit to Toyin Abraham’s Movie Premiere
Yinka TNT has slammed Mercy Aigbe’s ₦16 million outfit reveal, calling it insensitive to struggling colleagues in the entertainment industry.
She warned that such extravagant displays could alienate fans, especially as many actors battle financial hardship and seek public donations.
Singer and life coach Oluyinka O. Ayanda, popularly known as Yinka TNT, has expressed strong concerns over a viral video featuring Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe discussing her extravagant outfit to Toyin Abraham’s movie premiere, Iyalode.
The high-profile event took place in Lagos on Sunday, June 1, drawing numerous celebrities including Mercy Aigbe, who made a dramatic entrance carried in a caravan by muscular men. In a now-viral interview, the actress revealed that the combined cost of her outfit and carriage ranged between ₦15 million and ₦16 million.

Yinka TNT reacted critically to the display, questioning the priorities of Mercy and other celebrities who indulge in such luxury, especially in an industry where many of their colleagues are reportedly facing financial hardship.
She pointed out that while some actors struggle with serious health issues or homelessness and rely on public donations to survive, others spend huge sums on outfits worn just once. “You bought cloth for ₦16m just for an event, coming from the industry that will later bring sick people for help,” Yinka TNT remarked.
The singer stressed that many fans who donate money to assist struggling entertainers cannot relate to or afford the opulent lifestyle often portrayed by stars. She argued that such displays risk alienating the public and overshadowing the real challenges within the movie industry.
Yinka’s remarks have sparked debate across social media, with users weighing in on the balance between luxury and responsibility in the entertainment space.
