Falz Clears the Air on Bobrisky Rumors Amid Ongoing Defamation Battle With VeryDarkMan
Nigerian rapper Falz has dismissed rumors of a romantic link to Bobrisky, clarifying that he only responded to a plea for help during the crossdresser’s legal woes.
Amid a defamation suit against VeryDarkMan over a leaked call, Falz insists he acted out of compassion, not intimacy, vowing to remain helpful but more cautious.
Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has firmly denied having any romantic ties to controversial crossdresser Bobrisky, stating that he was simply trying to help during a difficult situation.
This clarification comes amid Falz’s ongoing legal battle with social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who last year shared a leaked phone conversation between Falz and Bobrisky, allegedly recorded while the latter was in prison. The leaked audio quickly went viral, sparking a wave of speculation and fueling unfounded claims about Falz’s sexuality.
In a recent interview on Arise TV, Falz provided updates on the defamation suit he and his father renowned lawyer Femi Falan filed against VeryDarkMan. The artist emphasized that the lawsuit is still active in court and that the defendant has yet to file a proper defense.
“After we filed the case, they didn’t enter a defense. Instead, they raised a preliminary objection, saying the court didn’t have jurisdiction to hear the matter,” Falz explained. “But the judge threw that out. Now they must either enter a defense or the court will proceed to rule.”
Addressing the source of the controversy, Falz reiterated that he had no prior relationship with Bobrisky. According to him, Bobrisky reached out via Instagram, asking for assistance during his legal troubles. Falz said he responded out of compassion, as he has done with many others in similar situations.
“Falz recalled that he reached out saying he wanted to discuss how I might be able to assist.. “I didn’t see it as anything unusual. I get messages like that all the time, and sometimes I try to help if I can. This wasn’t an exception.”
Looking back on the experience, Falz acknowledged that it has taught him to be more careful.
“Maybe I won’t stop helping people entirely, but I’ll definitely be more careful,” he added. “This has taught me a tough but valuable lesson, helping someone shouldn’t turn into a scandal.”
With the legal process still underway, Falz said he couldn’t reveal more details but expressed confidence that the truth would eventually come to light.
