Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo has addressed growing speculation surrounding her recent divorce from Oluseyi Akinrinde, clarifying that domestic violence played no role in the breakup.
The actress, who had earlier announced the end of her three-year marriage while wishing her ex-husband a happy birthday, sparked various reactions online. In the emotional post, she expressed regret that the marriage didn’t work out but emphasized the importance of choosing peace and life over staying in a difficult relationship.
“To everyone who feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry. I wish it had worked, but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story. Please keep us in your prayers,” she wrote.
However, after her message was widely interpreted as hinting at domestic abuse, Biola returned to social media to set the record straight.
“Please note: we never! I mean never had any physical abuse or domestic issue from either of us. (Seyi has never laid a finger on me and I never did as well),” she stated.
Her clarification aims to correct public misperceptions and refocus the narrative away from abuse allegations to one of mutual respect despite the marriage coming to an end
