Governor Fubara Promises Renewed Stability and Growth in Rivers
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured Rivers residents that steps are being taken to stabilise governance and revive the state’s economy.
In his Eid message, he urged unity, compassion, and prayers for peace amid Nigeria’s ongoing economic and security challenges.
As Muslims around the world mark the Eid-al-Adha celebration, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has sent a message of encouragement, reflection, and hope to the faithful and the entire people of the state.
In a goodwill message delivered through his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara highlighted the spiritual importance of the Eid-al-Adha festival, reminding Muslims of the lessons of obedience, sacrifice, and unwavering faith that it represents. He called on them to draw inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God, which remains the foundation of the celebration.
“The Eid-al-Adha festival reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God,” the governor stated. “It is a sacred tradition observed by Muslims across the world through solemn prayers, acts of sacrifice, and the generous sharing of meat with loved ones and those in need.”
Governor Fubara noted that the essence of the festival, sacrifice, compassion, and devotion was especially important at a time when Nigeria is facing several critical challenges, including insecurity and economic hardship. He urged Muslims in Rivers and across the country to use the celebration as a time for spiritual renewal and intercessory prayer for national unity and recovery.
He said, “This is a moment to pray not just for ourselves, but for peace in Nigeria, for unity among our people, and for a revival of economic stability that will benefit all.”
The governor also encouraged Muslims to live out the values of the season by extending acts of forgiveness, kindness, and reconciliation to others. According to him, these values are essential to building stronger and more supportive communities.
“No society can truly move forward without a common vision and the commitment of its people,” Fubara said. “Let this be a time to reach out to others, to heal wounds, and to build lasting relationships based on respect, understanding, and compassion.”
While acknowledging the current difficulties facing the state, the governor appreciated the resilience and sacrifices of the people. He admitted that although some promises may still be pending due to political hurdles, there has been measurable progress, and more is in the pipeline.
He reassured residents that his administration is actively working to strengthen governance structures and put the state’s economy back on a stable path. The government, he said, is listening to the concerns of its people and is ready to respond with practical solutions that will create meaningful impact.
He also stressed the need for collective support, urging citizens to continue praying for the progress and peace of Rivers State. “We are committed to ensuring the safety, well-being, and prosperity of every resident. Our goal is to build a state where every person can thrive,” he emphasized.
As he concluded his message, Governor Fubara extended warm wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid-al-Adha, expressing hope that the season would bring spiritual upliftment and renewed strength to every household.
“I wish the Muslim community in Rivers and beyond a joyful and fulfilling Eid celebration,” he said.
