Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Overcome a Battle with Cancer while donating £100,000 to Support Cancer Awareness
UK-based Nigerian preacher Tobi Adegboyega has revealed he battled and survived cancer.
Speaking in a heartfelt video, the controversial pastor said the illness deepened his sense of purpose and inspired him to give back.
UK-based Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has shared that he recently overcame a battle with cancer and, in appreciation, is donating £100,000 to support cancer awareness and treatment for young patients.
The charismatic and often controversial preacher made the announcement in a heartfelt video sermon broadcast to his congregation on Thursday. Speaking candidly, Adegboyega shared that he had been silently dealing with the illness for several months and had undergone major surgery.
“I was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, you heard me right,” he began. “For the past few months, I’ve been fighting. I just had major surgery, and that’s why I’m not there with you today. But I believe God has granted me the grace to continue living for a greater purpose and a new chapter.”
Moved by his experience, Adegboyega pledged £100,000 to support cancer initiatives, particularly those aimed at helping younger patients facing similar battles.
Renowned for his unconventional ministry, Pastor Tobi rose to prominence through his dynamic preaching style and dedication to supporting at-risk youth in the UK. However, he has also faced significant criticism over the years for his extravagant lifestyle, regularly making headlines for his flashy designer outfits, luxury vehicles, and close ties to celebrities.
In 2022, his ministry, SPAC Nation, was officially dissolved following a ruling by the UK High Court. The court found that the organization had failed to properly account for over £1.87 million in spending, resulting in its official dissolution.
Despite the controversy, Adegboyega’s latest announcement has sparked a fresh wave of public interest, with many praising his transparency and charitable gesture in the face of adversity. His supporters hope this marks a turning point, not only in his health but also in his mission to create positive change.
