Tottenham Hotspur have officially parted ways with manager Ange Postecoglou, ending his tenure just weeks after leading the team to UEFA Europa League success.
The 59-year-old Australian coach joined the North London side in the summer of 2023 and made an encouraging start by guiding the club to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League during his first season. Hopes were high heading into the following campaign, but things took a sharp downturn in the 2024–2025 season.

Tottenham endured a difficult run in domestic competition, winning only 11 games, drawing 5, and losing 22. Their final tally of 38 points saw them slump to 17th in the league table, narrowly avoiding relegation. It marked their worst performance in the Premier League since the format began, leading to mounting pressure on Postecoglou.
Despite the disappointing league results, Postecoglou managed to bring some joy to the fanbase by guiding the team to European glory. Spurs clinched the UEFA Europa League title after a memorable victory over Manchester United in the final. The win was particularly significant as it ended the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy.
The Europa League triumph initially sparked optimism that the manager might be given more time to rebuild. However, club executives ultimately decided that the domestic failures outweighed the European success. According to insiders, the decision was made after internal reviews and discussions about the club’s long-term direction.
Postecoglou’s exit has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with many appreciating the silverware but acknowledging that the team’s Premier League form had become unacceptable. The club is now expected to begin the search for a new manager ahead of the upcoming season, as they aim to rebuild and return to the top of English football.
