Iyabo Ojo Fires Back at Mage Kimambi Over Comments Targeting Daughter Priscilla
Iyabo Ojo has fired back at Tanzanian activist Mage Kimambi for criticizing her daughter Priscilla and son-in-law Juma Jux’s public posts.
She described Kimambi’s comments as disrespectful and warned her to steer clear of her family and their private lives.
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded firmly to Tanzanian media personality and activist Mage Kimambi after the latter issued a public warning to Priscilla Ojo and her husband, singer Juma Jux, advising them to tone down their social media activity amid Tanzania’s political unrest.
Kimambi had expressed concerns that the couple’s online posts could divert public attention from ongoing national issues. The message came shortly after the pair’s widely celebrated wedding, which drew attention across Nigeria and Tanzania. In her criticism, Kimambi reportedly labeled their content as distracting and inappropriate given the current political climate.
Iyabo Ojo, however, took issue with the activist’s approach and publicly defended her daughter. She dismissed the criticism as an attack and rejected the idea that the couple’s joyful moments should be politicized. According to the actress, the wedding was entirely funded by Priscilla’s family and was part of their long-standing cultural tradition.
Ojo also challenged the tone of Kimambi’s message, describing it as needlessly harsh and dismissive. She emphasized that while everyone is entitled to their views, attempts to police others, especially in personal matters, can cross a line into intimidation.
She reiterated her daughter’s right to share her life as she chooses and made it clear that Priscilla would not be silenced or deterred from enjoying her marriage.
The exchange has since gone viral, sparking debate online. While some agree with Kimambi’s caution about public behavior during political turmoil, many others support Iyabo Ojo’s defense of her daughter’s freedom to celebrate a personal milestone without interference.
