11 Kidnapped Victims Rescued by Security Operatives in Katsina
A combined security team in Katsina State has rescued 11 kidnapped victims during a nighttime patrol in Danmusa.
The successful operation disrupted the kidnappers’ plans and ensured the victims’ safety.
A coordinated effort by security agencies in Katsina State has led to the rescue of 11 individuals who were kidnapped by armed bandits in the Danmusa Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the rescue operation took place on the night of June 8 during a routine patrol. The joint security team included personnel from the police, military, Department of State Services (DSS), Community Watch Corps, and local vigilantes.
The team was patrolling the road that links Danmusa to Mara Dangeza village when they encountered a group of armed kidnappers. A gunfight broke out as the security agents engaged the suspects, who were attempting to flee with their victims. Thanks to the swift response and superior tactics of the operatives, the kidnappers were forced to abandon the captives and escape into the nearby bush.
The rescue operation led to the safe recovery of 11 people, including nine women and two men. The victims were said to have been abducted from various parts of the state, including Damawa village in Kankara, Bakam in Musawa, and Danmusa town.
The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, Mr. Bello Shehu, praised the bravery of the operatives involved in the rescue. He also reiterated the command’s resolve to collaborate with other security agencies in tackling insecurity.
Residents were encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest authorities.
