Enugu State is buzzing with excitement as residents prepare to welcome the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on a high-impact two-day working visit scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9, 2025.

In anticipation of her arrival, major streets across the Enugu metropolis have been beautifully decorated with eye-catching banners, lamp post displays, and posters bearing her image, creating a festive atmosphere in the state capital. The visual build-up is matched by a flood of goodwill messages currently airing across various radio stations, celebrating her humanitarian initiatives and expressing heartfelt appreciation for her expected presence.

Among those who have extended warm greetings to the First Lady is the Enugu State First Lady, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah. In a public message, Mrs. Mbah expressed joy over the visit and acknowledged Senator Tinubu’s consistent efforts in supporting vulnerable communities and healthcare professionals across the country.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome our dear First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on her two-day official visit to Enugu State from the 9th to the 10th of June, 2025,” Mrs. Mbah stated.

Highlighting the significance of the visit, she added, “Her Excellency will distribute professional kits to healthcare workers; launch the Free to Shine Triple Elimination Campaign against HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis; distribute palliatives to the vulnerable in the state; and commission the brand new Science, Technical and Vocational School, GTC, Enugu, built by the Government of Enugu State.”

Mrs. Mbah also lauded the First Lady’s dedication to social impact causes. “We are profoundly grateful for your inspiring and selfless commitment to humanitarian causes and are proud to be a part of your continuous empowerment outreaches,” she concluded.

Beyond these humanitarian gestures, Senator Tinubu’s visit will also mark the official commissioning of the newly completed Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) center GTC Enugu a flagship development project aimed at equipping youths with relevant hands-on skills for today’s labor market.

Adding his voice to the chorus of welcome messages, Governor Peter Mbah issued a special statement on behalf of the state government, expressing deep appreciation for Senator Tinubu’s visit and the federal partnership it symbolizes.
