Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday paid a Sallah visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos. He was accompanied by a group of prominent political figures from the state to extend their warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings and express their ongoing support for the President.

After the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the visit was part of a long-standing tradition of showing respect and goodwill during festive periods. He noted that such gatherings offer a chance to reconnect, offer prayers, and show loyalty to the President.
“It’s something we do during celebrations like this,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Whenever he is in town, the Governance Advisory Council and APC leaders from Lagos take time to visit and celebrate with him. We came here to pray with him and to let him know that the people of Lagos stand with him.”
The governor also praised President Tinubu’s leadership style and said his policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda are beginning to produce real improvements in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.
“In the last two years, we have seen the difference his leadership is making. It is encouraging,” Sanwo-Olu added.
Among those present in the delegation were the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; Senators Tokunbo Abiru and Ganiyu Solomon; and Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, Prince Tajudeen Olusi. Other notable figures such as Cardinal James Odunmbaku also joined the visit.
This visit comes amid online speculation suggesting tension between President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu. However, the show of unity during the Sallah gathering seemed to lay those rumors to rest.
