Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has stirred social media with a candid reflection on his past, sharing personal stories about his youthful days and his striking resemblance to his late father’s charm.
Taking to his X (Twitter) account on Tuesday, Charly Boy revealed that he was frequently pursued by women, even though they were fully aware he was a married man. He attributed this to his physique and charisma, which he proudly flaunted decades ago.
The controversial entertainer disclosed that around 30 years ago, he posed for some bold and suggestive nude photos, simply because he believed he had a “banging body.” According to him, his physical appearance and confidence made it difficult for women to leave him alone, regardless of his marital status.
“There are times and seasons in everyone’s life,” he began, reminiscing about how his late father, a former Nigerian Supreme Court Justice, also enjoyed massive attention from women during his youth.
Charly Boy recounted that his father studied at Achimota College in Ghana and, as legend had it, was quite the ladies’ man. “I heard stories of my beloved late father when he was single and young… Rumors had it that women no let the fine Bobo rest,” he wrote.
He continued, “He was always showing off his body ‘cos he was a gym rat too. So you see, 30 years ago I took some suggestive nude pictures because I knew I had a banging body, and the women no let me rest even when they all knew I was married. Yea! You can say, na my papa born me.”
