LGA Chairman Passes Away Weeks After Taking Office
Just weeks into his tenure, Bakori LGA Chairman Aminu Hamidu has died, leaving the Katsina community shocked and grieving deeply.

The Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area in Katsina State, Aminu Hamidu, has passed away just weeks after assuming office. Hamidu, who officially took over the role in April 2025, died on Monday. While no official cause of death has been announced, there are reports that he had been battling an illness prior to his passing.

Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, confirmed the news in a statement released to the public.
Governor Radda expressed deep sadness over the loss, describing Hamidu as a dedicated public servant and a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He praised the late chairman for his humility, sincerity, and lifelong commitment to serving his community.
According to the governor, Hamidu had worked at several levels of government and was known for his commitment to the well-being of the people he served. He stated that the chairman never sought attention but rather focused on doing meaningful work that made a real impact. Despite his short time in office, the governor said Hamidu’s leadership qualities were already making a difference.
