Wike Recounts Scary Moment on Private Jet (Video)
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike narrowly escaped a plane crash after an engine failure mid-flight.
He recounted the terrifying experience during a church service, thanking God for a safe landing.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, recently shared a frightening experience he had while aboard a private jet, revealing how close he came to a plane crash. Wike opened up about the incident during a Thanksgiving service at a church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he emotionally recounted the terrifying moment.
A video that has since gone viral captured a man, believed to be Wike, praying intensely inside an aircraft. In the background, pilots were heard communicating as they tried to regain control of the plane. The voice in the video repeatedly called out for divine help, with phrases like, “Satan, you are a liar,” “Father, Father! Oh, Jehovah,” and “Save my soul, save my soul, save my soul.”
According to reports by Tell Magazine, the aircraft involved was a Bombardier Global Express 5000/6000 series jet, reportedly worth about N15 billion. While cruising at an altitude of 34,000 feet, one of its engines suddenly failed, leaving the pilots scrambling to manage the situation.
In a newer video, Wike explained to the congregation that he had boarded the jet at the air force base in Port Harcourt, intending to travel to Lagos for an important meeting. However, just 15 minutes into the flight, he heard a strange noise. Concerned, he asked one of the air hostesses what was happening. Initially, she said there was nothing wrong, but after checking with the pilot, she returned to inform him that one of the engines had stopped working.
Faced with a dangerous situation, the pilots decided it was safer to return to Port Harcourt rather than continue the flight to Lagos. As a result, Wike had to cancel his planned meeting.
He also revealed that he was not alone during the incident. Two of his friends were with him in the aircraft, and one of them, clearly shaken, kept repeating, “I haven’t told my wife anything.”
Grateful for his survival, Wike ended his account by thanking God for ensuring a safe landing and sparing their lives that day.
