Atiku’s Aide Blasts Reno Omokri Over Consistent Attacks on Peter Obi

Atiku’s aide Paul Ibe slams Reno Omokri over constant attacks on Peter Obi’s character.

He accuses Omokri of betrayal, insecurity, and chasing clout with shifting political loyalty.

The Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has fiercely criticized ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri over his sustained and pointed criticisms of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In a strongly-worded statement posted via his verified X (Twitter) handle on Saturday afternoon, Ibe accused Omokri of carrying out “unprovoked, pedestrian, and acerbic attacks” against Obi. The statement appeared to be a direct rebuttal to Omokri’s Friday post, in which he claimed to have discussed credibility and political loyalty with Atiku during a phone conversation.

Reacting to Omokri’s insinuations and continued criticism of Obi, Ibe described Omokri’s online behavior as an expression of personal insecurity and projected failure. He suggested that Omokri’s frequent social media outbursts and shifting loyalties were driven by personal gain rather than principle.

“Reno Omokri, you are a classic case study in psychological projection an insecure man so desperate to escape his own failures that he accuses others of the very flaws that define him,” Ibe stated.

He further mocked Omokri’s reference to credibility, calling the idea of Omokri and credibility being used in the same context “an oxymoron” and a “mockery” of logic and language.

Going deeper into personal attacks, Ibe labeled Omokri a “Judas Iscariot” and a “master of treachery,” asserting that even those who associate with him today do so with suspicion due to his unpredictable and transactional character. He likened Omokri’s alleged loyalty to shifting sands, noting that even his public gestures of support to Atiku were questionable and likely aimed at self-benefit.

Addressing Omokri’s claim that he only goes after those who attack him first, Ibe pointedly asked what wrong Peter Obi had committed to warrant the repeated and vicious criticisms from the former presidential aide. He implied that Obi’s rising popularity could be the real reason behind Omokri’s persistent antagonism.

Ibe also criticized Omokri’s moral standing, particularly referencing his position as a self-proclaimed pastor. He likened him to Simon the Sorcerer in the Bible, alleging that Omokri lacked sincerity in his spiritual and personal life, especially given his polygamous family life and shifting political allegiances.

“Now you want a political wife in Tinubu and a side chick in Atiku?” Ibe asked mockingly, asserting that Nigeria should not be treated as a playground for political opportunism.

He further challenged Omokri to direct his energy toward questioning discrepancies in the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly pointing to a certificate issued by Government College Lagos allegedly dated two years before the school’s establishment. Ibe also dared him to renew his previous advocacy for the release of Tinubu’s alleged drug-related records by the FBI.

In closing, Ibe dismissed Omokri as “loud, treacherous, desperate and utterly irrelevant,” accusing him of betraying former allies for the sake of popularity and political crumbs.

The war of words highlights a growing internal friction among figures who once shared common political interests but now appear increasingly divided ahead of Nigeria’s next election cycle.
