Davido Backs Out from 50 Cent’s London Concert Over Event Disagreements

Davido has withdrawn from 50 Cent’s London concert, citing unresolved issues with event planning.

He says the decision protects his craft and honors the integrity of African music on global stages.

International Afrobeats sensation Davido has formally pulled out of 50 Cent’s much-anticipated London concert, a key stop on the rapper’s Legacy Tour. The event, which is set to take place on July 3, 2025, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UK, will still go on just without Davido on the lineup.

In a statement posted to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 14, Davido clarified the reasons behind his decision. Contrary to speculation, he emphasized that his withdrawal was not linked to ticket sales or a lack of support, but rather a principled stand regarding the execution of the event and how it aligns with his artistic values.

“Despite strong fan support and impressive ticket sales, there have been major misalignments regarding the event’s execution especially in aspects critical to maintaining the integrity and quality of my performance,” Davido stated. “Unfortunately, these issues have remained unresolved.”

He went on to express regret over the decision but stood firm on the importance of maintaining high standards in his performances. “I regret to inform you that I will no longer be performing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 3rd. Please note, the show still holds, but without Davido,” he clarified.

Davido praised his fans and highlighted the efforts his team made to ensure a memorable show. “Over the past few weeks, I have extended my full support and professionalism to The Neto Future Group, promoters of @iconicpresents, with the sincere intention of delivering a performance that meets the high standards my fans deserve,” he explained.

He stressed that the decision was about protecting his craft, the loyalty of his fans, and the representation of African culture on global stages. “This isn’t about turnout or support, it’s about principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent,” he said.

Reassuring his global fanbase, Davido confirmed that all his other scheduled performances remain unchanged. “London, I’ll see you guys soon, I promise! The rest of the summer shows are still happening. 5ive is still alive! See you in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the US! Africa must be respected,” he declared.

Davido’s bold exit has sparked conversation across social media, with many applauding him for standing up for professionalism and artistic integrity while calling attention to the importance of respecting African talent on the international stage.
