Former President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that any form of attack on the United States would trigger a powerful military response. In a post shared on Sunday via his Truth Social platform, Trump emphasized that the US had no involvement in Israel’s recent attacks on Iranian nuclear and intelligence sites.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump stated.
The warning follows Israel’s ongoing military action, which began on Friday. Israeli forces have reportedly struck several nuclear and military locations across Iran, resulting in the deaths of dozens, including senior military officials and scientists. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to target every stronghold connected to Iran’s ruling leadership. In response, Iran has launched missile strikes of its own, escalating tensions in the region.
Despite being informed of Israel’s plans beforehand, Trump made it clear that the US had no role in the assault. “The United States had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” he said.
Trump also expressed confidence in his ability to mediate peace between the two nations. “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!” he added.
During his presidency, Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and reinstated sanctions, dismantling an agreement originally negotiated under President Barack Obama.
