May Edochie’s lawyer has publicly stated that Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is entirely responsible for the breakdown of his marriage, arguing that Judy Austin, often seen as the villain, was actually a victim of manipulation.
Taking to Facebook, the legal representative shared a detailed statement on behalf of the DPA Family Law Clinic, outlining how Yul allegedly orchestrated events that led to the collapse of his marriage to May Edochie. Contrary to popular belief, the lawyer claims that Judy Austin was misled by Yul’s false narratives about his wife and family situation.
According to the post, Yul convinced May to relocate with their children from Enugu to Lagos under the pretext of insecurity in the East. Ironically, while May and the children settled in Lagos, Yul continued to spend most of his time in Enugu allegedly to shoot films. This created a scenario that allowed him to maintain a relationship with Judy without arousing May’s suspicion.
The lawyer pointed out the inconsistency in Yul’s claim: if Enugu was unsafe for his family, why was it safe for him, his parents, and Judy? The post argued that Yul’s actions were premeditated, using the separation as a smokescreen to live a double life.
Further exposing the manipulation, the lawyer recounted Yul’s 2019 accident in Enugu. When May attempted to travel to be by his side, Yul allegedly discouraged her from coming, insisting she stay with the children. Meanwhile, Judy remained close to him during his recovery, reportedly under the impression that May didn’t care a narrative Yul had allegedly fed her.
“Judy believed May was cold and distant, making room for herself in Yul’s life,” the lawyer wrote. “She acted based on lies and misrepresentation.”
The legal team also revealed that they’ve spoken with May and reviewed the events surrounding the accident, confirming that she genuinely wanted to support Yul but was blocked from doing so.
In conclusion, the lawyer warned that the situation goes beyond a mere love triangle. It involves cyberbullying, manipulation, and an orchestrated effort to paint May as the problem, all to justify polygamy. “It’s not just a scandal, it’s a calculated attempt to discredit an innocent woman and force a new narrative on the public,” the lawyer stated.
Neither Yul Edochie nor Judy Austin has officially responded to the claims at the time of this report.
