God Gave You a Womb Says Woli Arole as He Slams Trendy Surrogacy

Woli Arole slams rising trend of elective surrogacy, warns against ‘wokeness’ over childbirth.

Comedian’s remarks spark heated debate on faith, feminism, and women’s reproductive choices.

Nigerian comedian and actor, Woli Arole, has voiced strong disapproval over the growing trend of women opting for surrogacy without medical necessity. Taking to social media, Arole cautioned against what he described as “wokeness” influencing deeply personal decisions like childbirth, particularly when no fertility challenges are involved.

His comments come in the wake of a video posted by media personality Ife, who shared via Instagram that she had decided to welcome her children through surrogacy. While Ife didn’t cite medical reasons for the decision, Arole responded critically, stressing that the natural ability for a woman to carry her child is a divine gift and should not be discarded for the sake of convenience or societal trends.

In his post shared on Tuesday, the comedian wrote:

“Listen carefully. It is a blessing for a woman to carry her baby in her womb. That’s how God wants it. Don’t let wokeness derail you. Unless for medical reasons, then options like surrogacy or IVF make sense.”

He continued by challenging the popular mantra of bodily autonomy when used to justify elective surrogacy:

“You can’t just say, ‘My body, my decision. I don’t feel like carrying a child, so I’ll choose surrogacy.’ No! Your body is God’s temple.”

Woli Arole went on to emphasize the spiritual and biological significance of the womb:

“Surrogacy is not something to be taken lightly. There’s a reason God gave you a womb. Don’t ignore that purpose simply because of modern ideologies.”

His remarks have since stirred conversations online, with some supporting his traditional views on childbirth, while others criticized him for policing women’s reproductive choices and undermining personal autonomy. The debate reflects a broader cultural discussion around how far societal values should influence decisions regarding parenting and reproductive health.
