Singer’s tribute sparks praise as fans join call for justice and end to recurring violence.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Iyanya has paid tribute to the victims of the recent violent attacks in Benue State with a heartfelt song, expressing his condolences and standing in solidarity with those affected.

The artist’s emotional release comes in the wake of the horrific massacre in the Yelewata community of Guma Local Government Area, where over 200 people were reportedly killed by suspected herdsmen. The tragedy, which has drawn nationwide and international outrage, has spurred calls for justice and urgent intervention.

In the tribute track, shared via his official X (Twitter) page, Iyanya offered his prayers for the people of Benue and encouraged them to remain hopeful despite the devastating loss. The accompanying video features the singer in a somber tone, delivering a message of comfort and faith.

“I want to dedicate this song to all the people of Benue State,” Iyanya said. “These are truly difficult times, not just for Benue but for the entire country, because we all feel your pain. I pray that God comforts everyone who has lost a friend, brother, mother, father, or loved one. May God intervene and bring healing.”

He captioned the video, “We are praying for the people of Benue,” reinforcing his call for collective support and compassion.

The song has been met with praise online, with many lauding the singer for using his platform to shine a light on the crisis. Fans and fellow artists alike have echoed his sentiments, urging the government to step up efforts in addressing the recurring violence in Benue and other conflict-prone regions.
