Nigerian singer Ric Hassani has showered praises on street-hop sensation Portable, describing him as the most effortless collaborator on his newly released album, Lagos Lover Boy.

Speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV, Hassani revealed that out of all the artists he featured on the project, Portable stood out for his professionalism and efficiency. He shared that the controversial singer delivered his verse in under an hour, a feat that left a lasting impression on him.
“I have Portable on the album as well, and by the way, he was the easiest to work with among all the artists. He sent his verse back in like an hour very, very easy to work with,” Hassani said.
Despite Portable’s unfiltered public persona and constant presence in the media for controversial reasons, Hassani emphasized that his musical talent is often overlooked. According to him, the singer’s abilities shine through when you focus beyond the headlines and pay attention to his craft.
“It’s like Nigerian Idol, sometimes you just need to look past someone’s appearance or image to recognize true talent. And Portable is incredibly good. I’ve always known how gifted he is musically,” Hassani explained.
He continued, “I don’t make music just for hype or trends. I’m very intentional about who I work with, and I knew working with Portable would produce something great. And I believe fans are going to love it.”
Hassani’s remarks have sparked fresh conversations on social media, with many applauding his openness and willingness to collaborate beyond industry stereotypes. The track featuring Portable is already gaining traction, with listeners praising its energy and originality two things both artists are well known for.
