VeryDarkMan: Herdsmen Now Above Govt in Benue Killings

VeryDarkMan blasts Tinubu over Benue killings, rejects dialogue with suspected herdsmen attackers.

Says crisis demands self-defense, urges citizens to act as government fails to protect lives.

Popular social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has once again taken a bold stance against the Nigerian government over its response to the escalating violence in Benue State, particularly the recent deadly attack in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area, where over 200 villagers were reportedly burnt alive by suspected herdsmen.

In a passionate video shared online, the activist criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent comments urging dialogue between the Benue State government and the assailants. According to VeryDarkMan, the suggestion of reconciliation is deeply offensive, given the scale and brutality of the attacks.

He argued that the herdsmen responsible for the massacre appear to wield more power than even the highest levels of government. “From the president’s statement, it’s clear these herdsmen are not done with Benue. The call for dialogue with people who burn civilians alive is proof that they are beyond control bigger than Tinubu, APC, PDP, and the entire system,” he said.

The outspoken critic accused national security agencies, including the DSS, Nigerian Army, and Police Force, of either failing to act or deliberately turning a blind eye. He questioned how armed attackers carrying gallons of fuel and AK-47 rifles could have accessed the community undetected.

He also lamented the lack of attention the incident received from the public and media, noting that it took his own efforts traveling to the affected area and sharing disturbing videos for the issue to begin gaining traction online. “People are already numb to the killings in Benue, and that’s what scares me the most,” he added.

VeryDarkMan concluded by calling on Benue farmers and residents to begin taking their security into their own hands. He advocated for responsible self-defense, urging citizens to legally acquire firearms. “Unless Benue people arm themselves, this will continue. The situation is beyond what government intervention alone can resolve,” he warned.

He also joined hundreds of youths in Makurdi over the weekend to protest the ongoing violence, demanding urgent and sincere action from both state and federal authorities.
