Actress Laide Bakare Responds to Portable After Online Call-Out
Laide Bakare has responded sharply to Portable’s claims over an unpaid performance invite.
She warned him to stop mentioning her, saying she won’t tolerate any public disrespect.
Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has clapped back at controversial singer Portable after he publicly called her out, sparking drama on social media. The actress, clearly displeased by his comments, responded with a firm warning, asking the singer to stop dragging her name online.
The dispute began when Portable, in a widely circulated video, claimed that Laide Bakare had invited him to perform at one of her events but allegedly couldn’t afford to pay him. According to him, he turned down the offer, which reportedly infuriated the actress. He further claimed that Bakare insulted him, referring to him as “the dirty boy from Sango-Ota.” Portable went on to suggest that the actress initiated the conflict and later tried to play the victim.
“She’s the one that started the insult,” Portable said in the video. “She came to beg me to perform without payment, and I said no. Now she’s angry and calling me names.”
Not taking the accusations lightly, Laide Bakare fired back with her own video message, cautioning Portable to refrain from mentioning her name in public again. While she didn’t delve into specific details of their disagreement, she made it clear that she was not going to allow anyone to disrespect her without consequence.
“I don’t have time for clout chasers,” Bakare stated. “Whatever happened is in the past. Portable, keep my name out of your mouth and move on.”
The actress also emphasized that she had no time for unnecessary drama and would rather focus on her career and personal growth. Her calm yet assertive response has earned her praise from some of her fans, who applauded her for handling the situation with maturity.
As the online back-and-forth continues to circulate, fans are left wondering whether this celebrity spat will escalate further or quietly fade away.
