Hamas Condemns US Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Sites

Hamas has criticised the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear sites, calling it a serious threat.

The group voiced full support for Iran and warned it could spark wider tensions in the region.

The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, has voiced strong opposition to the recent United States airstrike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, labelling the act as a dangerous provocation and a blatant breach of international law.

The statement followed an announcement by former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday night, claiming responsibility for ordering a successful military operation targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. According to Trump, three critical nuclear sites were hit in what he described as a necessary action to neutralize Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

In its swift reaction, Hamas expressed unwavering support for Iran, a longtime ally, while denouncing the U.S. attack as part of a larger agenda serving Israeli interests.

Describing the strike as “a dangerous escalation” in the region, Hamas stated that the aggression was reflective of America’s continued loyalty to Israeli priorities at the expense of regional stability and international norms.

“This U.S. aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran represents a grave escalation and a violation of international law,” the group said in a statement. “It is also a sign of blind loyalty to the occupying Zionist regime’s agenda, which aims to destabilize the region and provoke unnecessary conflicts.”

Hamas went on to affirm its solidarity with Iran, commending the country’s leadership and military strength. “We stand with Iran, its government, and its people during this challenging time, and we are fully confident in their ability to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement added.

Iran has not yet issued a comprehensive response to the reported attacks, although its military command has reportedly been placed on high alert. Regional observers say Tehran may weigh a measured counterstrike or seek diplomatic recourse through international channels to avoid a broader warfront.

The strike, if confirmed, is expected to further strain U.S.-Middle East relations and complicate the already fragile geopolitical landscape in the Gulf region.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have fluctuated for decades, often peaking over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The U.S. has long accused Iran of covertly pursuing nuclear weapons, a claim Iran consistently denies, asserting that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.

Saturday’s attack marks one of the most direct and aggressive actions against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure since the killing of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in 2020. That incident, widely blamed on Israel, had already raised alarms across the region about the risk of full-scale confrontation.

Experts warn that the U.S. strike could ignite a new chapter of hostility involving Iran and its allies, especially proxy groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, Shiite militias in Iraq, and Hamas in Gaza, all of whom share ideological and strategic ties with Tehran.

Some analysts believe Hamas’s response is not merely rhetorical but a sign of regional solidarity that may shape future resistance strategies. “Iran’s role as a backer of various anti-Israel and anti-Western groups in the region cannot be underestimated,” said Middle East analyst Rami Al-Khatib. “This attack could solidify alliances and prompt coordinated actions against Western interests in the region.”

Meanwhile, global reactions have been mixed. Some Western governments have called for restraint and urged both the U.S. and Iran to avoid further escalation. Others remain cautious, pending confirmation of the extent of the damage and Iran’s potential retaliation.

The United Nations has not yet released an official statement, but calls for an emergency Security Council meeting are reportedly underway.

As the world watches closely, many fear that this could spiral into a wider military conflict, particularly at a time when multiple flashpoints already exist in the Middle East.

For now, the full impact of the U.S. strike on Iran remains to be seen, but the message from Hamas is clear: they are standing by Tehran, confident that Iran is both prepared and determined to resist foreign aggression.
