Afrobeats musician Spyro has urged Nigerian leaders to take their responsibilities more seriously, citing the growing hardship faced by citizens.
Spyro made the appeal during his performance at a grand reception held in Uyo on Saturday to welcome Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While addressing the audience, the singer acknowledged the governor’s performance and urged other political figures to emulate his leadership style.
“Shoutout to His Excellency the Governor. It’s an honour to be here today. I heard about the good things you are doing in the state. And we are so proud.So, I’m hoping that other leaders here can take leadership llessons from him and follow his footsteps and do better for us because things no easy for the country. So, make dem do better for us.”
The event was graced by top government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu. Also in attendance were APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and several federal lawmakers.
At least 24 APC governors, including those from Cross River, Imo, Kwara, Kogi, Lagos, and Ondo, were also present to witness Governor Eno’s formal reception into the party.
