Anambra to Launch Solution Fun City, Announces Major Infrastructure Contracts
Anambra is set to open the Solution Fun City on June 28, with Flavour headlining festivities.
The state also approved key projects, including a ₦417m rehab center and Igbo cultural revival plans.
The Anambra State Government has announced a string of new development projects, including the construction of a state rehabilitation center aimed at tackling mental health issues. This comes ahead of the official public opening of the highly anticipated Solution Fun City, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The Solution Fun City is among the flagship legacy projects initiated by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. It was formally commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his one-day official visit to Anambra State on May 8, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the state executive council resolved at its 12th meeting, held on June 23 at the Light House in Awka, that the Solution Fun City would be opened to the general public on June 28. The announcement marks a significant step in the state’s efforts to expand recreational and tourism opportunities.
To mark the grand opening, a major musical event is scheduled, headlined by award-winning Nigerian singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour. He will perform alongside other renowned musical acts such as Umu Obiligbo. The event is open to all residents and visitors, Dr. Mefor said.
In addition to recreational developments, the state government is ramping up its health sector interventions. One of the key highlights of the council meeting was the approval for the establishment of a State Rehabilitation Centre in Nibo, located within the Awka Capital Territory. The project is intended to enhance mental health care services in the state.
Dr. Mefor explained that the rehabilitation center would cater to individuals transitioning from asylums, providing them with full medical, psychological, and social rehabilitation before reintegration into society. The initiative is seen as a progressive move to address mental health challenges in a sustainable and humane way.
Another significant policy discussed was the proposed Anambra Rebirth Program, which aims to foster social, cultural, and economic renewal in the state. According to the commissioner, the program will include several transformative initiatives. These include the revival of the traditional Igbo Apprenticeship system, popularly known as Igba Boi, the promotion of values such as hard work and integrity, and a cultural shift against vulgar displays of wealth and unethical financial practices.
The council also deliberated on and approved a number of key contract awards as part of its broader infrastructure development agenda. Among these are:
- A contract worth ₦417.3 million awarded to Triseconds Resources Ltd for the construction and modeling of the newly approved State Rehabilitation Centre in Nibo, Awka.
- A ₦72.6 million contract awarded to Achufusi Ventures for the relocation and expansion of the Solution Hub & Park at Aroma Junction in Awka.
- A ₦414.9 million contract granted to Navigator Sign Ltd for the construction of an increte walkway, kerb installations, and aesthetic upgrades around the Ekwulobia Flyover.
- A payment of ₦340.9 million to Hemebs Construction Ltd to cover additional works and cost variations in the ongoing construction of a six-hall High Court complex.
- Another ₦790.2 million payment to O Ben Developers Ltd for additional works on the 17-unit Commissioners’ Quarters and related facilities in Awka.
- A payment of ₦62.9 million to B & O Ltd for price fluctuations on fencing, stormwater drainage, and culvert works at the Safari Park by Agulu Lake.
With these efforts, the Soludo administration continues to demonstrate its commitment to infrastructural development, healthcare reform, and cultural reorientation, aligning with its broader vision of building a modern and prosperous Anambra State.
