Carter Efe Shifts Loyalty to Davido After Wizkid Snubs His New Song ‘Macha’

Carter Efe ditches Wizkid for Davido after feeling ignored over his rising track Macha.

He praised Davido’s support for young artists, sparking strong reactions across social media.

Nigerian skit maker and singer Carter Efe has stirred online buzz after publicly shifting his loyalty from Wizkid to Davido. The unexpected move comes after Wizkid failed to acknowledge Carter Efe’s latest track, Macha, despite its growing popularity.

During a recent livestream, the content creator expressed his disappointment over Wizkid’s silence. In a move that visibly marked his shift in loyalty, he asked his co-host to “play me one Davido song,” signaling his new support for the DMW boss.

Carter Efe, once known for his die-hard support of Wizkid  even releasing a tribute song titled Machala  now appears disillusioned by what he sees as a lack of recognition. In contrast, he praised Davido, who has earned a reputation for embracing and promoting rising talents in the music industry.

His public endorsement of Davido has since triggered mixed reactions on social media. While some commended his courage to speak out and align with someone who supports emerging artists, others questioned the sincerity of his switch, labeling it a publicity stunt.

Regardless of the backlash, Carter Efe’s bold move has once again placed him at the center of conversation in Nigeria’s ever-vibrant music scene.
