Nigerian Hip-hop artist Odumodublvck has cautioned fellow rapper Balqbonez to stop claiming he is Nigeria’s top rapper.
This statement comes amid an escalating clash between the two rappers, which recently intensified following a fiery exchange on social media. The tension began after Blaqbonez took a jab at Odumodublvck in his new collaboration with A-Q titled ‘Who’s Really Rapping’.
In a recent interview on Jusmen 105.7, Odumodublvck addressed the feud directly, stating that Blaqbonez’s repeated claims to being the best are not only unfounded but also disrespectful to Nigeria’s hip-hop legends.
“Do you know what it is for you to say you are the best rapper in Nigeria?” he asked. “Stop joking. You are not the best rapper. M.I is the best rapper, Vector is the best rapper. If you were the best rapper, you would have won the best rap album of the Year [at the Headies]. You were not even nominated for best rap single.”
Odumodublvck went on to acknowledge that even he doesn’t place himself above veterans in the industry.
“I’m not better than Phyno as a rapper. Look at his legacy. There is, Olamide, Vector, M.I, Modenine, Ghost, Tec… So, for me to come and say I’m the best rapper, that means I’ve to be the best rapper. But if you’re not, stop saying it. It’s getting on my nerves, bro. You can get smacked in the face for that kind of sht.”
He further advised Blaqbonez to stop misleading fans, emphasizing that such claims can be damaging.
“Stop lying to the kids that you are the best. Nobody is even booking you for shows. Nobody is saying that you’re a wack artist, you’re an amazing artist. But don’t come and use your insecurities to close the door.”
The clash between the two rappers has caused mixed reactions online, as fans argue over who deserves the top spot.
