Nigerian Businessman Simon Guobadia Says He Regrets Marrying Porsha Williams

Simon Guobadia breaks silence, calling marriage to Porsha Williams a costly mistake fueled by financial motives.

Deported businessman vows Supreme Court appeal after being ordered to pay $40k monthly alimony in bitter divorce.

Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia has broken his silence following his highly publicized divorce from Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Porsha Williams. In an exclusive chat with Page Six, Guobadia expressed his regrets, alleging that he was “targeted for financial reasons” right from the start.

“I absolutely regret the marriage,” he admitted. “This felt like a coup. I was totally blindsided.” He recalled repeatedly asking Williams why she filed for divorce but never received a clear answer. “She wouldn’t say anything,” he said, noting that his attempts to contact her family also failed.

Their marriage lasted just 14 months before Williams filed for divorce in February 2024, citing major concerns about Guobadia’s financial dealings and U.S. immigration status. Guobadia, who was deported to Nigeria this month over immigration violations tied to bank and credit card fraud, insisted that these issues were never discussed prior to the separation.

“She never raised any concerns. In a marriage, you talk about problems. She never did,” he said. “Getting engaged in 30 days… who does that? I was out of my mind.”

Guobadia said the couple’s relationship began shortly after his divorce from “RHOA” cast member Falynn Guobadia. “Porsha was in my DMs praying for me. I think I was in a vulnerable position, and I entertained it.”

Following his deportation, a U.S. judge upheld their prenup, awarding Williams $40,000 in monthly alimony and up to three years of mortgage-free housing. Guobadia vows to appeal, even taking the matter “to the Supreme Court.”

He also dismissed any personal connection to Williams’s daughter PJ. “I don’t have a relationship with her,” he said, and criticized Williams’s offer of child support during his ICE detention, calling it “not done in good faith.”
