Toyin Abraham Reflects on First Marriage, Shares How She Found Love With Kolawole Ajeyemi

She now celebrates finding peace and support in her current husband, actor Kolawole Ajeyemi.

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has opened up about her journey through love and marriage, revealing why her first union with actor Adeniyi Johnson didn’t work out and how she eventually found happiness with her current husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.

In a recent interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toyin shared that her family had serious reservations about her first marriage, even receiving spiritual signs that it wouldn’t succeed. Despite their concerns, she went ahead with the relationship, which ended after about two years. 

“My family actually prayed and got signs that it wouldn’t work. But I didn’t listen. I went ahead,” Toyin recalled. 

Looking back with gratitude, the actress now speaks warmly about her relationship with Kolawole Ajeyemi. She described him as calm, prayerful, and deeply supportive, qualities that helped build a strong foundation for their marriage. 

“In real life, he is very calm. He is a prayer warrior. Whenever I go to Abeokuta, he is always there,” she said. 

Their bond started gradually, growing as they worked together on film sets and supported each other through personal challenges. Initially, they kept their relationship private to allow it to develop naturally. 

“I didn’t want anyone to know at first, but I started getting fond of him,” she said. “I’d tag along when he was going to work. Then we introduced ourselves to our families, I got pregnant, and marriage followed.” 

Toyin said her family prayed again, and this time received confirmation that Kolawole was the right partner for her. 

“Trust me, I married one of the best,” she added. “I won’t say the best because there are other marriages I admire, but my husband is definitely one of the best.”
