Victony Reveals He’s Been Sober for Three Months, Says Challenges Took His Youth

The Afrobeats star aims to perform alcohol-free on tour after wheelchair-bound recovery from tragic 2021 accident.

Popular Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Victony has aired out his personal struggles and sobriety journey.

In a recent post on X (Twitter), the singer revealed that he has been sober for the past three months, calling it a significant milestone in his life.

“3 months sober, Glory,” he wrote.

Victory, while reflecting on his past, noted that over the years the challenges he faced robbed him of his youth.

“My troubles stole my youth,” he shared.

The singer’s emotional statements come years after he survived a tragic car accident in 2021 that left one person dead and several others, including Victony, injured. After the accident, for a year Victony was forced into a wheelchair.

The release of Holy Father by Victony featuring Mayorkun, rose Victory to fame shortly after the incident.

In a previous revelation, Victony admitted that he had never performed on stage without alcohol but is now working to change that. During his ongoing Stubborn tour, he hopes to connect more genuinely with fans and experience live performances with a clear mind.
