Locals hail him as a symbol of hope, calling for government recognition and reward.
A tricycle rider in Aba, Abia State, has been widely commended for his honesty and integrity after returning a substantial sum of N4 million that was forgotten in his vehicle by a female passenger.

The incident reportedly occurred earlier today near the Ariaria Junction, a bustling commercial hub in Aba. According to eyewitness accounts, the woman, who is said to be a trader, boarded the tricycle commonly referred to as “keke” while carrying a bag that contained the cash. After reaching her destination, she alighted in a hurry and mistakenly left the money behind.
The keke rider, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, later discovered the bag with the huge amount of money still inside it. Instead of keeping the cash or ignoring the situation, he immediately began retracing his route to locate the woman.
Fortunately, with the help of other commuters and local traders around the Ariaria area, he was able to track down the woman. Upon confirming that she was indeed the rightful owner of the money, he handed the cash back to her in full, without requesting any form of reward.
The act of honesty has drawn praise from residents and social media users alike, many of whom described the tricycle rider as a symbol of hope in a society often plagued by dishonesty and fraud. Some have even called on the state government and local authorities to publicly recognize and reward the man for his exceptional character.
