Alhaji Aminu Dantata, iconic businessman and philanthropist, has passed away at the age of 94.

His death signals the end of a legacy deeply rooted in commerce and charity.

Prominent businessman and respected philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died at the age of 94. He was known across Nigeria for his contributions to commerce and charity, particularly in his home state of Kano.

Reports indicate that Dantata passed away early Saturday morning in Abuja. His death was confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, who shared the news on Facebook.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings,” Junaid posted.

He added that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course, stating, “The Janazah (funeral) details will be shared later insha Allah.”

Dantata’s death marks the end of an era for one of the most influential figures in Northern Nigeria’s business and philanthropic circles.
