Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, came alive with music and excitement as Nigerian superstars Davido, Timaya, KCEE, and highlife legend Bright Chimezie delivered electrifying performances at a spectacular live concert that thrilled thousands of fans.
The concert, held Friday night at the Umuahia Township Stadium, was hosted by Abia-born entrepreneur Lucky Igbokwe to celebrate the official launch of his two radio stations Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM. The event turned the city into a pulsating center of music and celebration, drawing huge crowds eager to witness the unforgettable night.
While all performers brought their A-game, it was Davido and Bright Chimezie who stole the show. Davido’s energetic performance, especially his rendition of the hit song “With You”, sent the crowd into a frenzy as fans sang along word-for-word, cheering his every move.
Not long after, Bright Chimezie took the stage and reignited the excitement with his timeless classic “Because of English”, captivating the audience with his signature dance steps and vibrant stage presence. His performance drew thunderous applause and enthusiastic dancing from fans across the stadium.
The chemistry between Davido and Chimezie was a highlight of the evening. After being spotted together in Lagos a few weeks earlier, their reunion in Umuahia thrilled fans. Many in the crowd began calling for a musical collaboration between the two, with some fondly referring to Davido as “our in-law” a nod to his marriage to Chioma, an Igbo native.
The night not only celebrated music but also bridged generations and genres, leaving a lasting impression on Abia’s entertainment scene.
