Controversial show promoter Sam Larry has broken his silence regarding allegations linking him to the events leading up to the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a revealing interview with activist VeryDarkMan, Sam Larry responded for the first time to the viral video that triggered public outrage and allegations of harassment after Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023. The short clip, which showed Sam Larry confronting Mohbad at a beach, had fueled suspicions of intimidation and contributed to the backlash against him.
Clarifying the incident, Sam Larry insisted there was no physical altercation. According to him, the confrontation was over a performance fee for a show Mohbad allegedly failed to attend.
“That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault,” he explained.
When asked why Zlatan Ibile, who witnessed the incident, has never addressed it publicly, Sam Larry alleged that the rapper was under pressure to remain silent.
“Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth,” he said, implying threats or fear of consequences.
Sam Larry also addressed rumours about his whereabouts at the time of Mohbad’s death, stating that he was in Dubai while Naira Marley, another associate under scrutiny, was in Amsterdam.
“I’ve never touched Mohbad in my life,” Sam Larry emphasized, maintaining that the viral narrative had been blown out of proportion.
