Kate Henshaw Fires Back at Age-Shaming Critics

Kate Henshaw fires back at age-shamers, calling ageing a gift, not a weakness.

The actress says she’s proud of her years and slams critics for using age as an insult.

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has responded strongly to critics who mock her age, calling out young Nigerians particularly men for using age as a form of insult.

In a video posted to her social media, Henshaw slammed the growing trend of age-shaming women, describing it as a lazy and ignorant form of criticism. She noted the irony of people who wish others long life on birthdays, yet turn around to use age as a weapon during arguments.

“It’s always the young men. When they want to insult you, the first thing is to call you ‘old woman.’ Is that supposed to hurt me?” she questioned.

The actress went on to stress that ageing is not a curse but a privilege that many never get to enjoy. She highlighted the peace, wisdom, and confidence that come with getting older qualities she considers true freedom.

“Do you people want to die young? Because you wish people long life, yet you use age as an insult. Make it make sense. Nobody can shame me. Ageing is a privilege,” she said.

Henshaw’s remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many praising her for standing firm and reminding the public that growing older is something to be embraced, not ridiculed.
