Emeka Ugwuonye, May Edochie’s legal counsel, has strongly refuted reports alleging that his client sent an apology letter to her estranged husband, Yul Edochie, during their ongoing divorce process.

Speaking during a live session, Ugwuonye dismissed the rumors as entirely false, stating that May has no reason to apologize. He clarified that she remains committed to the legal process, which she initiated in pursuit of divorce and compensation for adultery.

“There is nothing like that. May has no reason to apologize; she was the one who filed for the divorce. Yul had the opportunity to counterclaim but chose not to. As it stands today, Yul wants polygamy,” Ugwuonye said.

He further stressed that if any apology is warranted, it should come from Yul Edochie, whose decision to embrace polygamy led to the collapse of their marriage.

Ugwuonye also urged the public to ignore the circulating claims about the alleged letter, describing them as baseless and misleading.

Recall that May Edochie filed for divorce in August 2023, citing adultery and demanding ₦100 million in damages from Judy Austin, whom Yul publicly introduced as his second wife in April 2022. The case remains ongoing.
