Beninese music icon and Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo is poised to achieve a major milestone, as she becomes the first African musician to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kidjo’s recognition was revealed as part of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s announcement of the 2026 inductees, a list that features a diverse mix of global stars.

Joining her are American singer Miley Cyrus, French actor Timothée Chalamet, and retired basketball legend and TV analyst Shaquille O’Neal.

Others to be honored include celebrated Filipino artist Lea Salonga, award-winning French actress Marion Cotillard, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, British screen star Emily Blunt, and Canadian actress Rachel McAdams.

Although the specific ceremony dates are yet to be confirmed, recipients are given up to two years to arrange their formal star unveiling events.
