Mbappé Drops Harassment Case Against PSG, Pursues €55M Compensation

Kylian Mbappé drops harassment case against PSG but still demands €55 million in unpaid dues.

The Real Madrid star claims PSG withheld wages and bonuses tied to his final year in Paris.

Kylian Mbappé has officially withdrawn his legal case against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), bringing an end to months of legal tension. However, the French forward is still pursuing a substantial €55 million payout from the Ligue 1 champions over alleged unpaid dues.

The 26-year-old football star had previously filed legal complaints alleging moral harassment and extortion by PSG, claiming he was sidelined from first-team training during a contract standoff in 2023. According to Mbappé, the club used the exclusion as a pressure tactic to compel him into signing a new deal.

French judicial authorities had launched an inquiry into the matter earlier this year, assigning two magistrates to examine the claims. The case gained international attention amid Mbappé’s high-profile move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Though the criminal complaint has now been dropped, the financial dispute remains unresolved. Mbappé insists that PSG still owes him €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses believed to be tied to image rights, loyalty bonuses, or contract incentives from his final year in Paris.

The fallout between Mbappé and PSG began in mid-2023 when the forward declined to extend his contract beyond June 2024. In response, the club excluded him from pre-season training and key first-team activities, a move widely interpreted as an attempt to force him to commit or accept a transfer.

Mbappé eventually completed his long-anticipated move to Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer of 2024, ending a tumultuous chapter with the Paris club, where he won multiple domestic titles and reached the UEFA Champions League final.

Since joining Real Madrid, Mbappé has hit the ground running. In just over a season, he has already netted more than 30 goals across all competitions, reaffirming his reputation as one of the best strikers in the world.

His blistering form at the Santiago Bernabéu has helped Los Blancos maintain their status as a dominant force in European football. Meanwhile, his off-field battle with PSG now shifts focus to the outstanding financial claims.

While Mbappé has chosen to disengage from the legal path on allegations of harassment, sources close to the player confirmed that efforts to recover the unpaid sum will continue. It remains unclear whether both parties will settle the matter privately or if the financial dispute will progress to civil litigation.

The situation highlights the broader contractual challenges in modern football, where player rights, loyalty bonuses, and image rights frequently give rise to complex disputes.

Neither PSG nor Mbappé’s legal team has issued a formal comment since the case was dropped, but football insiders suggest that negotiations may be ongoing behind the scenes.
