Deeone has criticised Nasboi’s campaign for a Davido feature, calling it desperate and unnecessary.
He urged the skit maker to help others first, noting that blessings often attract greater support.
Comedian Deeone has publicly called out skit maker and singer Nasboi over his public campaign to secure a music collaboration with Afrobeats star Davido.
In a video making the rounds, Deeone expressed concern over Nasboi’s relentless push, which has seen him travel across 34 states, possibly all 36, holding placards asking Davido to feature him.
“Look at how desperate Nasboi is for Davido to jump on his track,” Deeone said. “You are carrying placards all over the country. But my question is, how many people you don help? You wey wan make Davido help you.”
While acknowledging Nasboi’s talent in skit-making and noting that his music “is not too bad,” Deeone stressed that featuring Davido doesn’t guarantee a hit song.
“Davido has done songs with lots of people wey the song no blow,” he added.
Deeone advised Nasboi to extend a helping hand to emerging artists, noting that taking a “spiritual approach” by being a blessing to others could attract the help he seeks.
“You sef help them and you will see that God will open doors… Try and be a blessing and I believe that the principle of life will favour you.”
He also warned Nasboi to be mindful of his safety during his travels, especially in unfamiliar territories, and encouraged humility and connection with others in the industry.
The video ends with Deeone reflecting on Davido’s history of lifting others in the music scene, saying: “You don’t understand the sacrifices Davido has made for this music industry.”
