Fidelity Bank Under Fire After ₦23 Million Allegedly Vanishes from Customer’s Account in Cyprus

A Cyprus-based Nigerian, Uchenna Enoch, has cried out after ₦23 million vanished from his Fidelity account.

With no answers from the bank, friends fear for his mental health.

A Nigerian man based in Cyprus, Uchenna Enoch, has raised alarm over the mysterious disappearance of over ₦23 million from his Fidelity Bank account without his consent.

According to accounts from those familiar with the situation, the incident came to light on June 20, 2025, when Enoch noticed several unfamiliar withdrawals from his Fidelity Bank account (number ending in 9771). Enoch claims he does not use the bank’s mobile app and has never authorized anyone to access or manage his account on his behalf.

The customer, who is currently outside the country, has reportedly reached out to Fidelity Bank but says he has received no meaningful explanation or attempt at restitution. A representative speaking on his behalf described him as heartbroken and deeply frustrated.

“These funds were everything he had. He is completely devastated. Fidelity Bank has left him without answers, and no one seems to care about how this money vanished,” the spokesperson said.

The issue has also gained traction on social media, where friends and concerned Nigerians are urging the bank to take responsibility. Many fear for Enoch’s mental health, noting that the financial blow has left him distressed and unable to return to Nigeria due to lack of funds.

“Fidelity Bank, please refund Uchenna’s money. He’s now depressed because of this. They took advantage of his being abroad, and now his savings are gone,” one viral post stated.

As of the time of filing this report, Fidelity Bank has yet to release an official statement regarding the claims. Attempts to contact the bank’s customer care representatives were unsuccessful.
