Mohbad’s Friend Spending Denies Being Liam’s Father, Offers to Take DNA Test
Mohbad’s friend Spending has denied being the father of the late singer’s son, Liam Aloba.
He called the claims false and says he’s open to a DNA test.
Spending, a close associate of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has come out to firmly deny viral claims suggesting he is the biological father of Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba.

The speculation surfaced after a blogger posted on social media, alleging that Liam bore a striking resemblance to Spending. The claim quickly circulated online, reigniting public debate and suspicion surrounding the child’s paternity an issue that has remained controversial since Mohbad’s death in 2023.
Responding via his Instagram story, Spending expressed frustration over the rumors, labeling them as false and harmful.
“I’ve been seeing several bloggers insinuating I’m Liam’s father. This is not a joke for real!! To set the record straight, I’m not his father and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y’all need to stop spreading these false narratives,” he wrote.
To further demonstrate his willingness to clear his name, Spending stated that he is open to taking a paternity test.
“I’m happy to have a DNA done if required,” he added.
His statement comes amid ongoing tension surrounding Mohbad’s family and the unresolved questions tied to his sudden death. While various voices have weighed in on the late singer’s legacy, the issue of Liam’s paternity continues to be a sensitive and widely discussed topic online.
