Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Tems has made history as the first African artist to perform at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show. 

The groundbreaking performance took place on July 13, 2025, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Tems captivated the global audience with a live rendition of her hit single ‘Love Me Jeje’. The star-studded event drew international attention, with dignitaries including U.S. President Donald Trump in attendance. 

Chelsea sealed a dominant 3–0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the tournament’s final, securing the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup title. 

Tems’ performance adds to a string of record-setting achievements for the Nigerian singer. She recently made history with her collaboration on ‘Wait For U’ featuring Future and Drake, becoming the first African artist to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track also crossed the 1 billion stream milestone on Spotify, further cementing her status as a global music powerhouse.
