Jonathan, Akufo-Addo Visit VP Shettima in London to Honor Late Buhari
Goodluck Jonathan and Nana Akufo-Addo visited VP Shettima in London to honor late President Buhari.
Their condolence visit marks a show of solidarity as Nigeria prepares for Buhari’s final homecoming.
Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Ghanaian leader Nana Akufo-Addo paid a condolence visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima and his delegation in London on Monday, offering tributes to the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The development was confirmed in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha.
President Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, at around 4:30 p.m. in a London hospital after a long battle with illness, his family announced. He had earlier departed Nigeria on June 28 for a scheduled follow-up medical treatment but reportedly experienced a sudden deterioration in health last week.
In response to the former leader’s death, President Bola Tinubu declared a seven-day period of national mourning. During this period, Nigerian flags are being flown at half-mast both within the country and at all foreign missions.
Vice President Shettima, who is currently in London on President Tinubu’s directive, is leading the delegation responsible for bringing Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for final rites. Accompanying him are several top government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, and Deputy Chief of Staff Senator Ibrahim Hadejia.
