President Tinubu has renamed UNIMAID to Muhammadu Buhari University in honor of Buhari’s legacy.
The announcement came during a Federal Executive Council tribute session for the former president.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially changed the name of the University of Maiduguri to Muhammadu Buhari University.
The announcement was made public on Thursday through a brief statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
According to Onanuga, Tinubu made the declaration during a tribute session held by the Federal Executive Council in memory of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“President Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri as Muhammadu Buhari University,” Onanuga posted on X, highlighting the move as a gesture of respect to Buhari’s legacy.
