Snoop Dogg Joins Luka Modric as Swansea City Football Club Co-Owner
Snoop Dogg becomes part-owner of Swansea City, joining football legend Luka Modric as investor.
The rapper hopes to boost club’s global profile and help power its return to Premier League.
American music singer and rapper, Calvin Broadus, popularly known as Snoop Dogg, has officially joined the ownership group of English Championship club Swansea City.

The club confirmed the news on Thursday, marking the latest addition to its team of high-profile investors. The 53-year-old American music icon now shares ownership with Croatian football legend Luka Modric, who also recently acquired a stake in the Welsh club.
Just last week Saturday, Snoop Dogg made an unexpected appearance on Swansea’s social media, where he launched the club’s latest new home jersey for the 2025-26 season. That teaser was followed by the announcement of his investment in the team.
Snoop Dogg’s entry into the football world follows the November 2024 takeover of the club by American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. The hope is that Snoop’s global fame and over 100 million followers on social media will help increase the club’s visibility as they aim to return to the Premier League. Swansea has been out of the top tier since their relegation in 2018.
Club owners have expressed their commitment to improving financial strength so that more investment can be made in new players, in line with profit and sustainability rules in British football.
Snoop Dogg, shared his excitement:
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City…The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me…I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”
Modric, who recently left Real Madrid and joined AC Milan at the age of 39, was also confirmed as an investor in Swansea back in April.
In a statement, the club’s owners said:
“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club’s reach and profile.”
“Snoop’s colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us do that, and he has made clear to us throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.”
“Snoop has openly shared his love of football and his desire to be involved in the game and we expect his involvement to support us putting as competitive a team as possible out on the field.”
Swansea appears to be following in the footsteps of Welsh rivals Wrexham, who shot to fame and success after being purchased by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020.
