Yinka Theisen Breaks Silence on Split with Linc Edochie, Dismisses Social Media Blame

Yinka Theisen denies social media ruined her relationship with Nollywood actor Linc Edochie.

She blames internal cracks, calling public breakup theories and online superstition baseless and misleading.

Yinka Theisen, the former partner of Nollywood actor Linc Edochie, has spoken out about the real reason behind their relationship’s collapse, firmly rejecting the idea that social media exposure was to blame.

In a lengthy post on her Facebook page on Thursday, Yinka addressed ongoing rumors suggesting their engagement ended because it was made public. She described such beliefs as baseless and rooted in what she called a “silly superstition.”

“First of all, you folks need to stop this silly superstition about people destroying relationships when it is made public. When two people are in a committed relationship, the only people that can destroy it are those two and what they allow,” she wrote.

Yinka clarified that their online engagement announcement was made with mutual understanding and consent. In fact, she revealed that it was Linc who first shared their pictures online to celebrate her birthday, and he did so after asking her permission. She further explained that public declarations like that are sometimes necessary, especially when immigration documentation is involved.

She also responded to a particular group she identified as “May Nation,” accusing them of twisting facts and spreading false narratives about her relationship. Yinka insisted that no outsider caused the breakup, adding that the relationship had cracks long before it became public.

“There were obvious cracks that I chose not to mention. It was not the first time we had issues. Jealous people are not responsible for the end of our relationship. Linc and I are,” she stated.

Despite the heartbreak, Yinka said she holds no regrets about celebrating the relationship publicly and prefers to remember the good times. “It was a beautiful one while it lasted. I chose to remember the fond moments rather than dwelling on negativity. He is a good man with lots of admirable qualities. That is how I chose to remember him,” she concluded.
